Fantastic Google Analytics connector for Power BI

Today we will see how to recreate the google analytics overiview with BI Power Preview. With this example, let’s try the new connector to import data from Google Analytics. We’re adding this connector not only to the Power BI Designer, but soon also to the Power BI Dashboards service This features is part of the new 7 update . Below we see the google analytics dashboard of my blog site.

in the Power BI Designer, the connector can be found in the More menu, under New Source button.

In the  Get Data click on All category

After choosing the connector Google Analytics will be asked to log in with your google account

After signing in with a Google Analytics account, we will be able to browse analytics data for all sites registered with the account. At this moment i choose my blog AnalisiSitiMarcoPozzan

Now we can select the analytics data which are displayed as dimensions or measures.

at this point we create a source for each object of the dashboard:

  • Sessions
  • Users
  • PageViews
  • Page/Session
  • Avg. Session Duration
  • Bounce Rate
  • % New Sessions
